For people interested in learning how to do business with the government at the local and federal level, a capacity-building conference being presented by The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) will provide information to help.

The inaugural Capacity Building Conference is scheduled for March 4 and 5 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.

Themed “Strategic Pathways to Growth,” the purpose of the conference is to assist businesses with charting a course for success by strengthening their core capacities in general business operations through insightful dialogue and key connections.

Offered at no cost to attendees, the two-day event will feature break-out and plenary sessions on Friday and a pair of featured activities – the Business Financing Clinic and the Broward is Buying EXPO – on Saturday.

The event will include a workshop designed to help Broward County vendors enhance their understanding of how Broward county government leaders’ decisions impact their bottom line when it comes to doing business. A panel of leaders from major county agencies will answer questions, explain what they look for in a vendor relationship and share the unique needs of their agencies.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear from the source about upcoming Federal procurement opport-

unities, and find out firsthand how to maneuver through the maze of government portals. Listen to the success story from someone who profited from their Federal small business certification to grow their company tenfold and learn how to connect the dots from a consulting firm that works with small businesses and the federal government.
