A digital archive is presented by the Black Archives History & Research Foundation of South Florida, Inc. The exhibit celebrates the legacy and impact of Black journalism in South Florida to revive the past and inspire future generations through the powerful collaboration of technology and historic preservation
The exhibit show cases their extensive newspaper collection featuring iconic publications such as the Miami Times- Miami’s oldest and longestrunning Black-owned newspaper, The Tropical Dispatch, the South Florida Times, the Washingtonian, Nite Life, Model City News, Miami Herald, Liberty News and Broward Times
Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to a visual journey through images of the collection enriched by biographical insights into some of South Florida’s Black newspaper giants. A user-friendly kiosk will allow guests to explore the digitized collections offering a hands-on experience of history at their fingertips.
Visit the exhibit weekdays 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at The Black Archives History & Research Foundation of South Florida, 819 NW 2nd Ave., Miami.
