Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – The Broward Teachers Union 28th Annual Innovative Teacher Idea Expo featured more than 35 grant-winning teacher disseminators, such as Richard Lamarre of Miramar High School, who showcased their projects. The event hosted by the Broward Education Foundation and presented by Office Depot, Feb. 1 at Fort Lauderdale High School, gathered educators from the county public schools to exchange innovative teaching strategies, actionable insights, lesson plans, resource lists, and adaptable classroom tools to enhance student learning outcomes. This year’s keynote speaker, Pat Yongpradt, chief academic officer of Code.org, in a presentation on “Making the Most of the AI Opportunity,” encouraged educators to embrace AI-driven strategies in their teaching methods. The annual expo, said Dr. Howard Hepburn, Broward County Schools superintendent, “is a shining example of the commitment our teachers have to innovation and excellence. Their willingness to explore new teaching methodologies and collaborate with peers strengthens our district’s ability to provide high-quality education to every student.” Visit browardedfoundation.org.
