Tasha Cunningham, branding/social media columnist with The Miami Herald and founder The Cunningham Group, will facilitate the session.

Burrell, who is founder of Burrell Communications, will talk about his decades of branding expertise in a workshop that will take place in a relaxed, non-formal setting, the chamber said.

“I have learned when crafting a multicultural marketing strategy one must realize black people are not just dark skinned white people. It’s about knowing your audience, what your brand can do to help their lives and how to talk to them in their own culture,” Burrell said in a chamber statement announcing the workshop.

“I am excited to share my experience and insight with Miami's diverse business community to help others learn the building blocks of branding,” Burrell said.

The chamber said top-ranked collegiate business & branding experts will also be on hand to take attendees “back-to-school” with an interactive segment relating to large national brands such as Apple and Starbucks, as well as local brands, to show how building of a brand can turn an idea into a household name.

The “Build-A-Brand Workshop” is slated for  8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Jungle Island’s Treetop Ballroom, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami. It is open to the public and is free for chamber members; for non-members, the cost is $20.

Exhibit booth space is available for members at $30 and for non-members at $40. Validated parking is available for $5.
