West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, one of South Florida’s premier performing arts venues, located in downtown West Palm Beach, has announced the appointment of Max Smith as its new Community Outreach manager.

Smith brings nearly two decades of experience in communications and community relations, officials said, having worked with government agencies and national nonprofits, including the Office of the Mayor of New York City, the Office of the Mayor of Hempstead, New York, and the National Urban League.

Throughout her career Smith has fostered relationships between organizations and the communities they serve, led efforts to expand access to programs and services for underserved populations, and built partnerships that drive meaningful change.

Most recently she served as an organizer with Florida Rising, a statewide grassroots nonprofit that advances racial and economic justice.

Originally from Jamaica, West Indies, Smith spent many years in New York before moving to Palm Beach County. She avidly supports the arts and enjoys interior decorating, travel, and spending time with family.

“We are thrilled to welcome Max to the Kravis Center,” said Tracy C. Butler, senior director of Education. “Her experience and passion for community connection align perfectly with our mission to inspire, educate and engage audiences of all backgrounds.”

Students of all ages can participate in a variety of Kravis Center workshops, classes and special events, as well as free and reduced-price tickets to those who might not otherwise have the chance to experience live performances.
