Coconut Creek, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2025) – Food For The Poor (FFTP) has earned a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible rating from the nation’s top evaluator of nonprofit organizations.

This rating designates Food For The Poor as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that our organization is using its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s comprehensive criteria that go beyond financials to reflect the work charities do.

Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest charity evaluator, providing donors with thorough and credible ratings of more than 230,000 organizations. Since 2001, the organization has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually.

Charity Navigator analyzes overall nonprofit health and performance based on four key areas:

• Leadership & Adaptability to help donors understand if a charity has clarity of purpose.

• Accountability & Finance to explain if they are transparent and fiscally capable.

• Culture & Community to show how they engage with their constituents.

• Impact & Results to explain what they have accomplished.

The ratings are based on the most recent financial data from the IRS for 2024.

FFTP has earned high marks from other charity watchdog groups including:

• Better Business Bureau/Wise Giving Alliance – FFTP is an accredited charity, rated in 20 different criteria under four major categories including governance, measuring effectiveness, finances and fundraising, and information. The latest accreditation is from June 2025 through June 2027.

• GuideStar/Candid – FFTP earned the 2025 Platinum Seal of Transparency, GuideStar’s highest designation.

FFTP commemorated its 43rd anniversary in 2025. In those four decades, the charity has gained important lessons including the importance of being a learning organization, transitioning from building things to building lives, valuing partnerships, investing in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of its programs, and being resilient.
