virginia_wilkinson_tresvant_web.jpgOPA-LOCKA —Virginia Wilkinson Tresvant, wife of the late Albert W. Tresvant, the first African-American mayor of Opa-locka and longtime administrator of King Memorial/Opa-locka General Hospital, died Jan. 20 at Jackson North Medical Center. She was 88.

Mrs. Tresvant is survived by her five daughters, Joy Carey (Whayman), Priscilla Hackett (Edwin), Deb-bie Wiley, Portia Livingston (Alfonso),  Leslie Osborne (David), and her brother, George Wilkinson of Nyack, N.Y.

 A memorial service will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at New Way Praise and Worship Center, 16800 N.W. 22nd Ave., Miami Gardens.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at New Way.

Arrangements are being handled by Royal Funeral Home.
