MIAMI –  In honor of Juneteenth, the Overtown Business Association (OBA) is proud to present the Overtown Block Party & Heritage Market – Juneteenth Weekend Celebration.

Taking place at the Dunns Josephine Hotel, 1028 NW 3rd Avenue, Miami on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, this highly anticipated gathering will center around the theme: “Celebrating the Harlem of the South — Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future;” this community-centered event honors the profound historical significance of the holiday while shining a spotlight on the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of Miami’s historic Black epicenter.

“Juneteenth is a time of reflection, celebration, and community empowerment,” says Trina Brown, Overtown Business Association Executive Director. “Through the Heritage Market and our ongoing 3rd on 3rd initiative, we aren’t just celebrating our history—we are actively investing in our future by supporting the brilliant small businesses that keep Overtown’s legacy alive.”

The community-centered experience will transform the neighborhood into a lively hub of music, fellowship, shopping, and local culture. Attendees will enjoy an incredible soundtrack of Soul, R&B, and Old School Hip-Hop spun by the legendary DJ SelfBorn, alongside an array of food options and local experiences that showcase neighborhood pride.

A major highlight of this year’s celebration is the official launch of the OBA’s highly anticipated Tribute Series. Month 1 kicks off at the block party with a special cultural tribute to Miami’s own legendary soul and R&B icon, Betty Wright.

Central to the festivities is the OBA’s signature 3rd on 3rd initiative. Pioneered to drive sustainable economic growth, the 3rd on 3rd initiative activates local commercial corridors every month, encouraging residents and visitors to intentionally buy from and support Black-owned businesses and local makers.

For Juneteenth Weekend, this initiative powers the spectacular Heritage Market, providing a premier platform for neighborhood entrepreneurs, culinary artists, and creators to connect with a wider regional audience.

Proceeds from ticket sales directly fund the work and mission of the Overtown Business Association, helping to strengthen Historic Overtown through economic development, community activation, and vital preservation efforts.

The Overtown Juneteenth Weekend invites everyone from across South Florida to experience the warmth, resilience, and creativity of this historic community. Come for the culture, stay for the community, and leave inspired.
