FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The City of Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is hosting a free two-day financial summit June 9-10 at the Old Dillard Museum, 1009 NW 4 Street in Fort Lauderdale and Midtown Commerce Center, 1033 Sistrunk Blvd. (NW 6 Street) in Fort Lauderdale, respectively.

Both events are from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The financial summit will include information from traditional, non-traditional and micro lending opportunities for businesses and homeowners. In addition, the CRA will discuss its commercial and residential incentive programs.

On Friday, June 9, the summit is for small businesses, retailers and commercial entities that are currently located in the Fort Lauderdale Village District (Historic Sistrunk, Progresso Village and Flagler Village) and those who are considering expansion, relocating and starting a business in the area.

The panel of financial experts will provide information regarding access to capital and will answer questions from attendees, who can also meet with lenders one-on-one to discuss their individual needs.

Participating financial institutions include: Broward Chapter of Mortgage Professionals, Brightstar Credit Union, Florida Community Bank, PNC Bank, Suntrust Bank, US Small Business Association and Wells Fargo.

On Saturday, June 10, the summit is geared towards homeowners in need of home improvements and those who are considering purchasing a home in the area.

Lenders will offer advice and guidance to help through the process of buying or refinancing a home. Owners and potential owners will have the opportunity to meet with experts one-on-one including: PNC Bank, Brightstar Credit, SunTrust Bank, Union, Broward Housing and Finance and Redevelopment, Broward Housing Solutions, Florida Community Bank, Urban League of Broward County and Wells Fargo Bank.

The overall goal of the CRA is to eliminate slum and blight in targeted redevelopment areas through the implementation of each area’s community redevelopment plan, foster dynamic and vibrant commercial and residential environments and expand economic opportunities in the community.
