LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Police in Little Rock are set to try wearing cameras for a 30-day test period.

The department said Friday that seven Taser-brand cameras will be assigned next week to officers in the northwest, southwest and downtown divisions and to officers in the River Market District and at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.

Police Chief Kenton Buckner told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1zDo1lF ) that in light of civil unrest in places like Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri, the use of force by an officer “needs to be recorded.”

Police in Jacksonville, Jonesboro, Ward, Beebe, Glenwood and Austin are among Arkansas law enforcement agencies already using body cameras. North Little Rock police tested the devices in the fall and plan another test.
