The City of West Palm Beach Parks and Recreation Department’s Parks Maintenance Team placed second in the Southeast Park Maintenance Skills Challenge. Best known across the participating communities in the southeast of Florida as “The Turf Rodeo,” the one-day event is an opportunity for City employees to demonstrate their expertise in the various pieces of equipment they operate when providing superior customer service for residents, business owners. This year, the competition took place on March 23rd at Pioneer Park in Deerfield Beach, with more than 10 communities participating from Plantation to West Palm Beach. The City of West Palm Beach earned five awards, including a trophy for finishing second place overall. Member of the winning maintenance team include Allan Smith, Jack Williams, Craig McMahon, Andre Washington, Rashad Sheffield, Jim Louis, Matthew Graham, Dante Wynds, Derrick Nelson, Matthew Street, Shawn Hayes, Arzan Mohammed, Tim Van, Anthony Sandlin, David Burney, Keith Reinbott, Charles Pagan, Victor Nunez, and Keith Jackson.
