“We welcome the new Goulds Walmart supercenter and the hundreds of jobs it will bring to the residents of this neighborhood,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis Moss, who represents Goulds.

“While Miami-Dade is coming back from the recession, there are still families who are struggling to get back on their feet,” Moss said. “For these residents, Walmart is offering much-needed employment opportunities as well as affordable groceries and goods.”

The center will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The contact number is 305-257-0025. Interested applicants are encouraged to first apply online at (Goulds Store #5912) before coming to the hiring center.

The majority of new associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening. The store is hiring both full- and part-time associates, said Eric Burgains, the manager. “We are excited about bringing Walmart to Goulds and the impact we will have in the community.

“In addition to helping families save money, our new store will provide more than 300 new jobs for the community,” he said. “I joined Walmart in 2002 as an hourly intern and chose to make Walmart a career in 2006. Today, I serve as store manager and an example that these jobs can give associates the opportunity to build careers.” Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months, officials said. Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria. Interested veterans may find out more at
