fmu.jpgFlorida Memorial University (FMU), South Florida’s only historically black university, recently highlighted its top scholars during its annual Honors and Awards Day celebration.

It recognizes the academic achievements of students and scholarship recipients from the prior academic year.

“Each year we pause to salute our best and brightest students,” said Randy James in commending the honorees. “It’s important that we highlight their accomplishments. We want to showcase their successes and encourage them to continue performing at a high level.” He added that “Many of our honorees are first generation college students. So, this is a family accomplishment.”
