RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) _ Green Mountain Power customers can learn about energy efficient products and services at an open house at the company’s Energy Innovation Center in Rutland.

The event takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

GMP says customers can learn about water heaters and heat pumps and how to get them installed with no upfront costs. Officials say heat pumps use 50 percent less energy than traditional oil or propane systems and offer efficient heating and cooling.

GMP also offers eHome, a home energy makeover, that may include weatherization, heat pumps, solar, LED lighting and technology to track and control usage. A family will be offering tours of their eHome.
