DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say a school bus crash in the Florida Panhandle sent five students, two adults and a baby to the hospital.

School officials say the bus was on its way to Walton Middle and Walton High schools Thursday morning. DeFuniak Springs police say the bus was making a left turn at an intersection when it was hit by an oncoming pickup truck. It wasn’t immediately clear who had the right of way.

School officials say four students and the bus driver were taken from the scene to a nearby hospital. The Northwest Florida Daily News (http://goo.gl/sDkVIi) reports that a fifth student was taken later by a parent. Police say the truck’s driver was flown to a Pensacola hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 10-month-old baby from the truck was also hospitalized for possible injuries.
