Harvard professor, Henry Louis Gates has boosted the popularity of discovering family roots with his PBS show, Finding Your Roots. What’s fascinating is the same thing Gates has done with a variety of celebrities, everyday people can do on their own.

The Miramar Branch of the Broward Library System will present a workshop to help participants learn how to get started with exploring their family’s history. The session will include a discussion about the importance of finding family roots, as well as explore what’s needed for the search, including a conversation regarding the challenges and joys of ancestral discovery.
