Miami – The Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (DAHCAC) is concluding its 50th Anniversary season with a dynamic weekend of visual art and performance.
Three major cultural events — “Porch Passages: Creole Collage,” “Suns & Shadows,” and the Art, Blues & Soul Festival — will activate the center with music, movement, color, and community celebration
Through Dec. 6, the center, 6161 NW 22nd Ave. in Miami, will host a dynamic weekend of exhibitions and performances, featuring:
• “Porch Passages: Creole Collage” — a community-built installation by interdisciplinary artist/architect and designer Cornelius Tulloch, reflecting the vernacular Black and Caribbean architecture of Miami.
• “Suns & Shadows” — a powerful exhibition curated by Roscoè B. Thické III. The show explores the circular nature of legacy and features evocative works by Mark Delmont, Reginald O’Neal, T. Eliott Mansa, Mark Fleuridor, and Lance Minto-Strouse, an DAHCAC alumnus returning from a Yale Residency.
