GAINESVILLE, Fla. — UF Health hospitals have earned multiple national honors from Healthgrades, including placements among America’s 250 Best Hospitals and top 100 rankings across several specialties, recognition that reflects the system’s commitment to delivering outstanding care.

Healthgrades evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals around the country using objective national patient safety indicators and clinical outcomes data. To be named one of America’s best hospitals, providers must consistently offer exceptional, comprehensive quality care.

UF Health Shands Hospital, UF Health Jacksonville, UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital and UF Health Leesburg Hospital were all recognized.

UF Health Shands Hospital and UF Health Jacksonville both earned a spot on the top 250 hospitals in America list and were recognized as among the country’s top 100 hospitals for critical care. UF Health Shands also was lauded for excellence in outpatient joint replacement, outpatient orthopaedic surgery and stroke care, while UF Health Jacksonville was acknowledged as a top 100 hospital for prostate surgery.

Two other UF Health hospitals across the state were recognized:

  • UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital in The Villages earned a Patient Safety Excellence Award — a designation that places it among the top 10% of hospitals nationally for patient safety — and was named one of the top 100 best hospitals for orthopaedic surgery and prostate surgery. The award recognizes hospitals that excel at providing top-quality care while preventing serious safety events during hospital stays.
  • UF Health Leesburg Hospital was named to the list of top 100 best hospitals for orthopedic surgery.
