teri-williams_web.jpgMIAMI — OneUnited Bank will host a series of free and open-to-the-public consumer finance summer workshops at various bank branches until Aug. 26.

The workshops, called Smart Money Summer School, will focus on consumer banking issues such as how to build or rebuild credit, credit reports and information about how lenders make credit decisions.

The two-hour workshops will be presented by OneUnited Bank managers as part of the bank’s effort to improve financial literacy.

“When consumers are informed and knowledgeable – everyone benefits: the bank, the customer and local businesses,” said Teri Williams, president & CEO, OneUnited Bank. “It’s important to note, these workshops are open to anyone. You do not have to be a OneUnited Bank customer to attend.”

The free Smart Money workshops run from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 12; 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12; and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Miami branch, 3275 NW 79th St., Miami.
