ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) _ Kodak and the U.S. Energy Department’s largest science lab have announced a collaboration aimed at getting more high-tech start-up companies to locate in Rochester.

Under an initiative announced Tuesday, emerging clean energy companies will have access to resources at both Kodak’s Eastman Business Park and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says combining Eastman Business Park’s testing and manufacturing strength with the research capabilities of Oak Ridge will bring more companies and jobs to the region.

The collaboration will focus on next-generation battery and energy storage devices and materials.

The Eastman Business Park in Rochester houses more than 60 companies.
