The Palms West Community Foundation is supporting Hospice of Palm Beach County as one of their local charities of choice for its diverse quality of care. Hospice of Palm Beach County offers a very special type of holistic care and support for the whole family, which improves physical, psychological and spiritual well-being.

Hospice of Palm Beach County’s compassionate care is based on each patient’s needs and comfort. Patients are allowed to stay in their own home, continue to see their own doctor and can continue medications and treatments that ensure comfort. Hospice of Palm Beach County’s physicians and nurses care for patients in a family home, assisted living facility, skilled nursing facility or hospital.

As a not-for-profit hospice, everyone in the community is cared for who qualifies for hospice care and wants services, regardless of their ability to pay. Services are paid for through Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance and the generous financial support of our donors.

Hospice of Palm Beach County offers open access. Patients are admitted who need non-curative treatments and medications for pain and comfort, such as radiation, chemotherapy, transfusions and IV medications.

The Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Spectrum Health, Inc. and its subsidiaries, is dedicated to raising funds to support the unfunded patient programs and services offered by Hospice of Palm Beach County which are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance.

The 501(c)(3) organization relies on the support of individuals and corporate partners who generously support the mission of Hospice of Palm Beach County.
“On behalf of Hospice of Palm Beach County, we thank the Palms West Community Foundation and local community for their support and generosity,” said Dr. Gonzalez.

“It is an honor to serve as the 2012 honorary chairperson. The annual run and walk is a wonderful way to bring everyone together for fresh air and exercise while helping a very worthy cause.”
