Crist is running as an independent since leaving the Republican Party in April. He trails Republican nominee Marco Rubio in the polls going into Tuesday's election.

At an early morning stop Sunday at a senior citizens facility, Crist responded "Yes, we can'' after former state Rep. Addie Greene said the election was not about Republicans or Democrats, but moving Obama's agenda forward.

Crist also stopped at two black church services. He told congregants he is a "common sense, no nonsense,'' social moderate and fiscal conservative.
