A former jail guard in St. Louis was convicted of forcing a female inmate at the St Louis Justice Center to have sex with him.
36 year old Tony West was found guilty after the jury was told of how he forced a 29 year old female inmate into a janitor’s closet and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was in jail for writing bad checks and told investigators he told her he could have charges against her removed if she had sex with him.
DNA from West was found on rubber gloves in the janitor’s closet, and that’s all the jury needed to convict him.
The jury recommend 3 1/2 years in prison. West will be sentenced on December 13th.
