miami-dade_web.jpgMIAMI — Miami-Dade County has been awarded $65,000 by the Local Sustainability Matching Fund (LSMF), with a dollar-to-dollar match of $75,000 from the Health Foundation of South Florida (HFSF), to jumpstart community-led urban agriculture and health initiatives that support GreenPrint, the community’s sustainability plan.

Through the grant, the county will replicate the “in our backyard” (ioby) technology platform and website to raise money, showcase local projects, organize volunteers and share solutions related to sustainability and urban revitalization projects, to address the healthy eating and healthy community goals for both partners, and move GreenPrint forward.

LSMF, a collaborative effort of the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities and the Urban Sustainability Directors Network, is designed to catalyze partnerships between local governments and local foundations.
