al_sharpton_9.jpgNew York-based activist the Rev. Al Sharpton, president & CEO of the National Action Network, will give the keynote address at a political forum which the Miami-Dade Branch of the NAACP will host this month.

The chapter and the Florida State Council are sponsoring the forum along with a number of other organizations, most of them labor unions, as well as the Political Action Committee at New Birth Baptist Church where the Bishop Victor T. Curry is senior pastor.

MSNBC correspondent Joy Reid and CBS anchor Eliot Rodriguez will moderate the discussions slated for 6-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral of Faith International, 2300 NW 135th St., Opa-locka.

Local, state and federal candidates will discuss issues pertaining to the November general election.
