Miami – (Black PR Wire) The Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS) is joining health centers nationwide in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW) Aug. 3 9 under this year’s theme: “Celebrating 60 Years of Progress.”

Health centers represent the nation’s largest primary care network, serving approximately 32.5 million patients across nearly 16,000 communities annually, according to the National Association of Community Health Centers.

Among the many reasons to celebrate America’s health centers is their enduring success in providing access to affordable, high-quality, cost-effective health care throughout the United States.

“At JTCHS, we are proud to stand alongside health centers across the country in celebrating 60 years of progress in community care,” said Ryan R. Hawkins, president and CEO of Jessie Trice Community Health System.

“We are honored to be part of this legacy and to serve as a trusted healthcare provider in Miami-Dade. We are grateful to our patients, our dedicated staff and volunteers, and our partners who help us carry this mission forward every day.”

The first Federally Qualified Health Center in the state and fifth in the nation, Jessie Trice Community Health System, Inc., is a Florida 501 (c) 3, notfor-profit organization that has been serving Miami-Dade County since 1967.

In celebration of National Health Center Week, JTCHS will host a variety of events and activities, continuing with:

Thursday, Aug. 7 – Population Focus Day. The dental team will take over social media to spotlight oral health.

Friday, Aug. 8 – Partner Appreciation Day. JTCHS will thank partners for their invaluable support and collaboration in advancing JTCHS’s mission.

Saturday, Aug. 9 – Gratitude & Future Vision Day. JTCHS will host its annual Back-to-School Immunization Fair, to support families preparing for the new school year (by appointment only).
