MINNETONKA, Minn. (AP) _ A Minnetonka teen has scored a perfect 36 on the ACT college entrance exam. And, he’s not even in high school yet.

Eighth-grader Frank Lu took the test last year and scored a 34. But Lu wasn’t satisfied with that and took the test again in mid-June and came up with the top score.

Frank attended Minnetonka East Middle School and will go to Minnetonka High School this fall.

His dad, Wentao Lu, tells the Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1NvgmIi ) his son didn’t put in an extraordinary amount of study time before taking the exam again. But, he did check out a couple ACT prep books from the library and practiced for a couple weeks.

Frank says he’ll take the test again as a junior as he explores his options for college.
