On Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 am, Miami’s decades-long tradition of the Annual Sunrise Ancestral Remembrance of the Middle Passage will be held at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, 4020 Virginia Beach Drive (off Rickenbacker Causeway, a toll road)) to honor the memory and heroism of Ancestors who endured the horrors of more than 400 years of forced migration across aboard thousands of slave ships, both the millions who perished and those who survived to build nations and give life to future generations.
White attire is encouraged but not required.
Admission is free and open to the public, but park entry after 7:00 am is $10.00 cash only per vehicle.
The weekend also honors Fathers’ Day and the former segregated Colored park’s milestone 80th anniversary year with a Saturday Juneteenth Beach Bash celebration.
