MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Sisterhood, easily distinguished by its beautifully illustrated cover design, has touched the minds, hearts and souls of thousands of women since its launch in August 2016.

Founded and published by Michelle Hollinger, the monthly magazine has featured dozens of South Florida women who are living lives of purpose and achieving authentic success.

“The whole idea behind the publication is to celebrate sisterhood, with a special emphasis on what I call the S.O.S. (Sisterhood Of Self) – a woman’s relationship with herself,” said Hollinger. “We’ve placed a very deserving spotlight on women who are not letting fear, others’ opinions or any other obstacle stop them from living the life with their name on it.”

Hollinger said the intention is to serve as a reminder to readers that instead of settling for mediocrity, they, too, can live full, authentically successful lives.

“By reading the stories of women who have overcome fear and stepped out of their comfort zones to pursue their dreams and goals, readers are encouraged to do the same,” said Hollinger, a former editor at The Miami Times and the South Florida Times and author of The Sisterhood Exchange.

To celebrate its first anniversary, The Sisterhood is hosting several events throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The first event, “A Conversation with Michelle Hollinger,” is scheduled for Saturday, August 12 at 6 p.m. Tickets to the event are available at Eventbrite.com/conversationwithmichelle. A portion of the proceeds will facilitate sisterhood empowerment workshops for girls.
