Publisher Justin Prisendorf says the shift will save half a million dollars in annual printing and distribution costs. The Gazette had a reported circulation of 10,000.

He says it's the wave of the future, and provides a two-way medium reaching eight times as many readers as the print version.

The newspaper will redesign its Web site _ www.cggazette.com _ to include links to other news sites, pictures, video and information.

The newspaper industry is suffering from years of declining circulation and advertising revenue. Other, much larger outlets like the Christian Science Monitor and Seattle Post-Intelligencer have also moved to online-only publishing.
