MIAMI GARDENS — The Sunshine Slopers ski club will hold its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Betty Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th St., Miami Gardens.

“The benefits of joining a ski club include social activities in addition to group rates on ski trips each winter.  Sunshine Slopers also enjoy a year-round schedule of activities including parties, picnics, social outings and more,” said club president Lawanda Joseph.

The Sunshine Slopers, South Florida’s first affiliate of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, has an ambitious schedule this year.

Club destinations include: Crested Butte, Colo.;  Sugarbush, Vermont; Sun Valley, Idaho; Lake Louise, Canada; Nice, France; Boone, N.C.; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The club also plans to go on the Tom Joyner “Fantastic Voyage.”

Several young skiers travelled recently to Sugarbush, Vermont, where they won gold and silver medals, Joseph said.

The Sunshine Slopers is inviting skiers and non-skiers to join the club.
