TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Lawyers who represent workers before the Florida Human Relations Commission say it is a “rogue agency'' that's politicized and biased in favor of employers.

The state chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association issued a report Thursday calling for it to be fixed or abolished.

The commission handles workplace complaints of discrimination and retaliation as well as requests for protection under the state's Whistle-Blower Act.

A spokesman for the panel said he had not seen the report and had no immediately comment.

The legal group's recommendations include repealing a law making it difficult for workers to sue employers if the panel makes a “no cause'' finding.

Another proposal is to adopt self-help solutions for individuals and involve the federal government, grand juries and courts in the complaint process.
