MIRAMAR — The city of Miramar announced it will offer two summer camps for children and has lowered the fees and updated the camps to make them more enjoyable and affordable.

These are the Sports and Fundamentals Camp and the Tween-2-Teen Camp.

Campers in the Sports and Fundamentals Camp will experience a wide range of outdoor sports. This program is designed for kindergarten through fifth grade children and will be offered in weekly sessions, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, June 13 through Aug. 19.

This camp is designed to teach the history and basic fundamentals of a variety of sports, while developing individual skills and techniques through various drills and games.

The cost is $85 per week for residents, with an additional 20 percent for non-residents. The registration fee is $25, which includes the cost of a camp T-shirt.

The optional field trip cost is $15 per week for residents. The optional swim trip costs $5 per week.

Campers must have turned 5-years old prior to Sept. 1, 2010. Tween-2-Teen campers will be treated to a special experi- ence Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with a different field trip each day. The camp hours will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p. m.    on    those    days.    Weekly sessions are available starting June 14 and ending Aug. 19.

This camp is for children ages 13 to 16. The cost is $65 per week for residents and an additional 20 percent for non-residents. The registration fee of $25 covers the cost of a camp T-shirt.
