The Peaceful Zion M. B. Church family are inviting you to join in the ongoing celebration of the 24th pastoral anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Dr. C. P. Preston Jr.
The theme is:  “A Pastor Serving in the Spirit of Excellence with a Passion for Illuminating God’s Word to Empower and Transform Lives.”

The observances continue this Friday night, Oct. 22, with the Rev. Gaston Smith and congregation of Friendship M.B. Church in charge of the service.

The Rev. Douglas Cook and the Jordan Grove M.B. Church congregation will render the 10 a.m. service on Sunday.

The anniversary services will come to a close at 4 p.m. Sunday, when the Rev. Dr. William M. Ramsey and congregation of  Greater Providence M.B. Church of Fort Lauderdale will be in charge.

The anniversary banquet took place Oct. 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Miami, with the featured address delivered by Dr. James B. Sampson, president of the Florida General Baptist Convention. The Second Chapter rendered music for the evening.

Preaching services, which began Oct. 18, have featured the Rev. Dr.  Carl Johnson and congregation of 93rd Street Community Baptist Church; the Rev. Dr. George McRae and Mount Tabor M.B. Church; the Rev. Joe C. Johnson and congregation of Greater Ebenezer M.B. Church; and the Rev. Dr. Alonzo Neal and congregation of Greater Antioch M.B. Church of Pompano Beach.

Preston’s congregation members describe him as an “honored, esteemed, efficient and committed leader and visionary” who has been leading Peaceful Zion, 2400 NW 68th St., in Liberty City, Miami,through precept and example.

Preston is also the moderator of the Florida East Coast M.B. Association, the second largest Baptist Association in the country. He is former first vice president of the Florida General Baptist Convention.
