Fort Lauderdal, Fla. – Broward Health Imperial Point celebrated its 50th anniversary with a reception Oct. 25 to mark the special occasion.

Broward Health leadership, physicians and members of the hospital system’s extended family were joined by county and city elected officials, first responders, community leaders and physicians, as well as supporters of the Broward Health Foundation to celebrate the milestone.

“Broward Health Imperial Point is an integral part of our local community, providing quality healthcare services each and every day,” said Judy Frum, CEO of Broward Health Imperial Point.

“I am proud to lead such an incredibly talented, compassionate and dynamic team. We’ve achieved a lot through the years and are committed to making investments in services, technology, state-of-the-art equipment, and most importantly, our patients.”

The American Hospital Association (AHA) recognized Broward Health Imperial Point’s 50th anniversary – and 50th year of membership within the association.

A commemorative plaque was presented by Jaime Caldwell, president of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, on behalf of the AHA.

A touching moment of the evening was a poignant video that paid tribute to the generosity of a former patient who was so moved by the compassionate care he received at Broward Health Imperial Point that he gave one of the largest one-time gifts to the Broward Health Foundation.

The $5.5 million donation will be used to establish the Jacqueline J. Bernstein & Marvin H. Weiner Imaging Center and to purchase cutting-edge imaging technology.

Throughout the evening, guests were invited to tour the imaging center, cardiac catheterization lab and emergency department.

Broward Health Imperial Point’s 50th anniversary celebration will continue throughout the year with various employee events and recognitions, as well as additional capital investments within the hospital.
