Angelou's physician, Dr. Jeff Williamson, told MSU officials that he advised Angelou to cancel all speaking engagements that require overnight travel

He wants her to stay close to home where her condition can be monitored regularly.

MSU Leadership Institute director Carmen McSpadden says they're disappointed that Angelou will not be able to attend, but hope that she is able to recover quickly and fully.

Angelou's lecture has not been rescheduled and there are currently no plans to do so.

Refunds will be offered through Nov. 30 for all tickets sold.
